AI Transparency Statement Summary
ABS Institute uses artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly, transparently and under human
supervision. We currently use Microsoft 365 Copilot, Chat GPT and Grammarly to
support approved workplace productivity tasks such as drafting, editing, summarising, planning, document preparation and improving the clarity of written communication.
AI is used as an assistive tool only. It does not replace trainers, assessors, managers or authorised decision-makers, and it is not used to make final assessment judgements, determine competency, issue certification, decide enrolment suitability, determine complaints or appeals, or provide legal, medical, migration, counselling or mental health advice.
We protect students and stakeholders by applying approval controls, privacy safeguards,
data protection requirements, human review, verification against authoritative sources, staff training and continuous monitoring. Personal, sensitive, assessment or confidential information must not be entered into unapproved AI tools.
All AI-assisted outputs that may affect students, clients, staff or the public are reviewed by the Managing Director or Operations Manager before use. Concerns, complaints or appeals about AI-assisted actions can be raised through ABS Institute’s usual staff contact, trainer, assessor, student support contact, Operations Manager or Managing Director, and will be managed through the relevant complaints, appeals, incident or
continuous improvement process.
ABS Institute reviews its AI use and this statement at least annually, and sooner if there is a significant change to AI use, risk, regulation or operational practice.
