Business: Grow In Grace Counselling Services
Jan started Grow in Grace Counselling services on NEIS with ABS Institute in late 2018. She is a certified clinical family counsellor who provides a number of services to the community. These include:
- Individual Therapy
- Couples Therapy
- Family Therapy
- Group Workshops
- Group Training
Jan trained in a foundational model of Family of Origin. It assists with our family experience if unhealthy, to empower us to move forward for the future. She also has both personal and professional experience with assorted relational addiction. This is part of her drive and passion, to be a part of people’s lives and to go on the journey with them.
When reflecting on how the NEIS program had helped her she said “NEIS has enabled me to become more aware of society and how to harness my potential and flourish. I have now utilized a number of services through NEIS training.
Mentoring is the area of accountability, where the team helps you to think out of the box without doing it for you. When you’re struggling this can be hard, however being in your own business requires due diligence.”
In regards to what advice Jan would give to anyone starting their own business she said “Firstly the team are there to help you, don’t be afraid to ask. You are your best cheerleader and no one knows you like you do. Surround yourself with your friends, family and people who believe in you. They will be your greatest investors.
When I signed up with NEIS I was $10,000 in areas with my mortgage. I had no job and moved out of my home to rent it out. So my 12 months have not been a walk in the park, I assure you. There will be trials, obstacles and challenges to distract you from your goals. I have had to relocate a number of times, and have been quiet transient for the last 12 months. I have driven long distances and stayed overnight in assorted locations to develop relationships to build my client base.
You really have to be proactive and when you feel you can’t, you have too! Look for those support networks and don’t give up if you believe this is your purpose. Keep believing then that door will open, that contract will come, that investor will see you, that company will want your product, or your talent will be found. Whatever your adventure see it as such an adventure with a support network called NEIS.”
Jan has done such a great job and is a true testament to what can be achieved through hard work and the right support networks. We look forward to hearing about Jan’s continued success. You can follow in Jan’s footsteps and apply for NEIS here www.absinstitute.com.au/applyneis
